 Dr. Kimball
  1. I have been in the practice of psychotherapy for over 30 years, now.  I have found that while people have a tendency to come in believing that they are broken or defective, that is seldom -- if ever -- actually true.  Instead people become stuck in the beliefs, assumptions, and ideas that are rooted in their minds through experience and learning and have trouble reacting to specific situations with flexibility.  This inevitably results in pain, anxiety, despair, and a sense of incapacity.  As a therapist, it is my job to listen with compassion and understanding and respond with both support and ideas that will help a person learn to improve flexibility and responsiveness that leads to a fuller, more value-focused way of living.
